Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange zest 2-3 oranges
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • For the Orange Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.

Mix dry ingredients:

  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
  • Set aside

Cream wet ingredients:

  • Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes)
  • Mix in orange zest
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each

Combine remaining wet ingredients:

  • Mix orange juice, milk, and vanilla in separate bowl

Combine batters:

  • Alternately add dry ingredients and wet ingredients to butter mixture
  • Begin and end with dry ingredients (3 dry, 2 wet additions)
  • Mix until just combined

Bake:

  • Pour into prepared pan
  • Bake 50-55 minutes until toothpick comes out clean
  • Cool in pan 10 minutes
  • Invert onto wire rack

Make glaze:

  • Whisk powdered sugar, orange juice, zest, and melted butter
  • Pour over completely cooled cake
