Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 1-2 minutes. Mix in eggs and vanilla until fully combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined and no streaks of flour remain. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie, spacing them 2-3 inches apart on the baking sheet. If desired, press chocolate chunks or sprinkles into the tops.
Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden, but the centers are still a little soft. Remove from the oven and immediately use the heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes. Be cautious as the cookies will be hot!
Let the cookies cool on the sheet for 5-7 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
These cookies are perfect for sharing on Valentine's Day! They come together quickly, with no chill time needed, making them an easy and sweet treat for any occasion.
