Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 lb spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 8 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 tablespoons 1 stick unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • ½ cup fresh parsley chopped
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Cook Pasta:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup pasta water before draining.

Prepare Shrimp:

  • Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.

Make Sauce:

  • Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
  • Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cook 1 minute
  • Add shrimp, cook 2-3 minutes per side until pink
  • Remove shrimp from pan

Finish Dish:

  • Add wine and lemon juice to pan, simmer 2-3 minutes
  • Return shrimp to pan
  • Add cooked pasta and toss to combine
  • Add pasta water as needed for desired sauce consistency
  • Stir in parsley and Parmesan
