Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 1 box 15.25 oz yellow cake mix
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water 110-115°F
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

For the Filling:

  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg optional

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

  • Combine cake mix and yeast in a large bowl
  • Add warm water and melted butter, mix well
  • Gradually add flour until soft dough forms
  • Knead 5-7 minutes until smooth
  • Let rise 30 minutes in warm place

Make the Filling:

  • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon
  • Have softened butter ready

Shape and Fill:

  • Roll dough to 15x20 inch rectangle
  • Spread with softened butter
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture
  • Roll tightly from long edge
  • Cut into 12 pieces

Second Rise and Bake:

  • Place in greased 9x13 pan
  • Let rise 30 minutes
  • Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes

Frost and Serve:

  • Beat cream cheese and butter
  • Add powdered sugar, vanilla, milk
  • Spread on warm rolls
