Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  • Line 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang

Brownie Layer

  • Whisk melted butter and sugar
  • Beat in eggs one at a time
  • Stir in vanilla
  • Sift and fold in cocoa powder, flour, and salt
  • Fold in chocolate chips
  • Spread in prepared pan

Cookie Layer

  • Cream butter and sugars (3-4 minutes)
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla
  • Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt
  • Fold in chocolate chips
  • Dollop and spread over brownie layer

Baking

  • Bake 35-40 minutes until cookie layer is golden
  • Cool completely (about 2 hours)
  • Cut into squares
